Baltic Sea – with its own strategy

The strategy of the European Union (EU) for the Baltic Sea region is one of those EU’s initiatives in which Latvia has been participating from the moment the idea appeared. The strategy was adopted on 29-30 October 2009 in the European Council. One of the basic tasks is to promote the sustainability of environment in the Baltic Sea region.
