European Voluntary Service (or Eiropas Brīvprātīgais Darbs in Latvian), is an opportunity for young people (18-30 years old) to work as a volunteer in another European country for 2 to 12 months. EVS volunteers gain valuable work and life experience, while supporting their host organization in various tasks.
In 2013, “homo ecos:” was accredited as Hosting, Coordinating and Sending Organisation (registration number 2013-LV-7). This means that “homo ecos:” can host European volunteers, and can help Latvian youths to do a project abroad.
Sending and Coordinating
If you are interested in doing an EVS project abroad, “homo ecos:” can help you. We provide information about the EVS programme, help you find a project, coordinate with your host organisation and support you before, during and after your stay abroad.
We actively promote projects related to environmentalism, green lifestyle and nature, but of course we also gladly support you in finding a project in a kindergarten, youth center, senior’s home, or any other organisation!
In June 2013, “homo ecos:” was joined for the first time by two EVS volunteers: Mateja from Slovenia and Beáta from Hungary. The girls supported the team in various tasks, such as organizing workshops.*
In March 2014, Anna from Ukraine and Janny from The Netherlands joined the team, to stay with “homo ecos:” for one year.*
Since March 2014, we proudly host Elise from France and Piet from The Netherlands.*
Vacancies for upcoming EVS projects will be published on Youth Networks.
