Christmas time is a wonderful time of the year – it’s a time to celebrate with friends, family, cozy lights and good food. But it is also a time of year that is marked by consumerism and wasted resources. People tend to over-eat, throw away big amounts of food, use lots of energy, buy (often underappreciated) presents, cut down trees to decorate their homes, etc.
Green Christmas workshop
That is why homo ecos: is not dreaming of White Christmas, but of a Green Christmas! On Wednesday 10 December, we would like to show you that it is possible to celebrate a wonderful Christmas without committing these environmental sins. We will provide practical tips and ideas for substituting some of the more harmful decorations and gifts with more “green” ones. We will bring several of these ideas into practice during the creative upcycling workshop.
Presentations: European Voluntary Service
Combining the fun with the adventurous, the first part of the evening will be devoted to EVS – European Voluntary Service. We will provide information about this wonderful chance to spend up to a year volunteering in a European country. And several (ex-)EVS volunteers will share their stories.
