The Training Course “Environmental Training for Eco-Trainers” (ET4ET) aimed to educate trainers and teachers about different ways of environmental education, so that they can pass on the knowledge and make their lessons, events and events more sustainable and interesting. The training took place from 20-28 March 2015 in a small farm on the island Rügen in Germany.
Our group was nicely mixed up with participants from 11 different countries, who represented their home environmental and youth organisation. Together we raised our awareness of various environmental issues and their solutions and focused on methods and soft skills to communicate this content to our environment.
For this purpose we applied methods of non-formal education, learning-by-doing, experimental learning , practicing, simulating, group work and self-evaluations during the Training Course. In this way we got our space to share practical tools and methods to get inspiration for new environmental activities and to promote further projects within our organisation after the Training Course.
Thus, an Eco-Trainer is an environmental educator as well as a trainer and project manager.
