“Green Entrepreneurship” is a long-term Erasmus+ project, coordinated by our partner organisation Youth and Environment Europe, in Prague. The project includes a Training Course for youth leaders, a series or local workshops in the participating countries, a publicity campaign, the making of promotional videos, and another Training Course for youths.
TC “Supporting youth creating green start-ups”
In April 2015, youth leaders from 8 countries came to Spain to learn about green businesses, and how to support youths who would like to start up their own green company or project.
I really enjoyed being around a group of very inspiring and entrepreneurial people for a week. Many of the participants had cool start-up ideas of their own (a snail farm, eco-tourism or ‘simply’ an organic farm), and it was great to be able to work on business plans, marketing actions and business ethics with this people.
Throughout the week, we learned many practical skills and facts – but most importantly, we learned some good methods that we will be able to use to pass that inspiration on to youths in our own country.
The best thing of all was the amazing location chosen for the training course: lots of nature, the best local, organic, vegetarian food, and no internet! Very relaxing!

Seminar “Green Entrepreneurship”
On Wednesday 19 August 2015, homo ecos: organized a seminar and networking event in Riga for young green entrepreneurs. The participants discussed the questions “what is a sustainable business?”, listened to stories from experienced and starting entrepreneurs, learned how to write a business plan and were informed about The Green Toolbox as a tool for making any project more sustainable.
TC “How To Be A Green Entrepreneur”
In October 2015, 23 young participants from 10 countries gathered in Toulcuv Dvur, Prague, Czech Republic. The aim of the training course was to train and inspire young people with green start-up ideas and help them start and develop their own green business.
During these eight days of the training course, I had the possibility to present and elaborate my green start-up idea and receive feedback from other participants as well as experts. Learning serious themes in informal way taught me to think out of the box and to look wider.
I picked up new skills from our lecturers, such as design thinking, lean canvas, risk analysis, different profiles of team members and sustainable finances. I also enjoyed hearing successful and less successful entrepreneurial stories from our guests and from other participants who already had started their small businesses.
Because the training course took place in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, it was also a great opportunity to visit and enjoy our time in Prague almost for free. I would suggest to every young person to try such experience because it opens minds for new things and of course it improves your communication and English skills!
